Nothing like painting with white oil-based primer and then realizing you forgot to purchase the scrub hand wash to get the oil primer off your hands. In your pajamas. Nice.

It's so pretty! Did you have to sand it too? I'm trying to refinish a dresser right now and things are NOT going smoothly!!
Thanks guys! And Sandi, yes, I did sand it a little bit. The secret (I was told by my interior designer friend) was that you really don't need to sand it as long as you use an oil based primer, followed by water based paint. The oil based primer will make it so the water based paint doesn't peel. And then you really don't have to sand it too much. The Home Depot guy said we'd probably want to do a quick once over with sanding, so that's what I did. :) Good luck with your dresser!
So, I have more questions. What EXACT color of paint did you use on this desk? And did you use a roller or a paint brush?
I used a regular paint brush, and painted with the grain of the wood. The exact color was Glidden Base: GLN6213- SATIN, Glidden Int Ltx Satin (GLN) (BLACK) 00NN 00/000, CLRNT-OZ384th, B- 3 192. Not sure if this makes sense! I basically just wrote down everything on the label. :)
