Hiatus

Well, many of you probably are experiencing (as I am) the abrupt ending of television show seasons, such as Hero's. Seems like everything is going on hiatus these days, even me and Shelby from the blog! I got on here this morning cause Shelby told me she was posting pics but alas, there is nothing... so I thought I would post a couple pics from when Courtney, Matt, Mom and Dad recently visited me in NY for Thanksgiving! It was very fun having them here, and we all had a great time.

Here we are at Rockefeller Center in front of the Radio City Music Hall, where the Rockettes perform.

Mom, Dad, Courtney and Matt in Central Park! In front of the ice skating rink.

Courtney and me at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! There is the Mr. Potato Head balloon in the background floating by in Times Square!

NUu eeORK!

Welcome to New York, where the girls outnumber the guys 2 to 1... and that's on a good night! Here's the group that went to Stalking Santa posing with one of the Actor's from the film, he's standing in the middle.
Peace out and have a great weekend!

Stalking Santa

Last night I went to the NY movie premiere of "Stalking Santa", a film by some of the same people involved in "The Singles Ward." Narrated by William Shatner, this movie was very enjoyable, funny, a little dark, but mostly just good entertainment. Two "scientists", and I use the term loosely, seek to find out whether or not there is a real Santa. I won't tell you how it ends though...
the movie is going on sale at Walmart this holiday season and I recommend it as a silly Christmas movie you can enjoy with your family! Plus, it was mostly shot in Utah, so anyone who lived in Provo will recognize places in the film. PLUS, William Shatner... need I say more?

If I could do anything right now....

I would go rollerskating! I love rollerskating... and not with rollerblades out on the street, but real "old-fashioned" roller skating, with the skates, and the rink, the flashing lights and disco ball, skating around listening to 80's hits, mostly Bryan Adams, getting a small sprite with the crunchie ice and hanging out. Yes, if I could do anything right now, I would be roller skating... what would you do?

Where's Waldo?

At that Halloween party the other night, I was so excited and happily surprised to see so many people dressed up in great costumes. It was amazing! Then, across the crowd, I saw none other than Waldo! You know who I mean, the Where's Waldo guy! This was super exciting for me, I've played with the idea of dressing up as that for a few Halloween's now. Anyway, the point is, later on in the evening I was walking through a crowd of people dancing when I bumped in to none other than Waldo! So, of course, I tapped him on the shoulder and said "I've been looking for you all night!" To which Mr. Waldo looked at me bewildered, like he had no clue who I was. I was like "uhhh... you are dressed as Where's Waldo... right?" he nodded. I said after another awkward pause... "You're Where's Waldo, and I found you." At this point, HE finally remembered what a Where's Waldo was, and I walked away. Halloween tip: remember what you're dressed as and you may avoid an awkward situation or two.

Halloween Party

L to R: Brittany/Cat, Heidi/Fries, Ashley/Joan of Arc, Kyle/Ghostbuster, Kim/Lil' Bo Peep, Sara/Pocohontas-Tiger Lilly, Lyndee/Go-Go Dancer, Brenda/Doll

On Saturday I went to the funnest Halloween party ever! Everyone was dressed up, everyone looked great. Kim was little Bo Peep, all the boys were drooling! Brenda and Lyndee were babes as a Doll and Go-Go dancer respectively... And I've got to give a shout out for my friends who won FIRST PLACE in the costume competition as GHOSTBUSTERS! Way to go Rich, Kyle, Dr. Steve and Mary, and Libby as the sensational secretary with pink hair! LOVED IT! :)
(Hopefully I'll have some more pics from the party to add soon...)

Hair Shmare.

So, I was standing in the bathroom cuttung my hair (just a minor trim I assure you, nothing drastic) when I realize- ug, I really, ug (trying to focus on the back of my head) can't reach these hairs at the very back on the bottom. So. I say, "Dave! can you HELP me? I cannot reach." and he said-"uh. No. I don't know how to do that." and I said. "c'mon, of course you do. Haven't you ever watched the ladies at the hair cutting place?" AKA salon. He said "No." I said, "just cut it anyways I can't reach." "How am I supposed to know how much to cut?" So I SHOWED him the amount I was cutting from the rest of my head. He took the scissors and my brush and started mimmicking what I'd shown him to do "Pull the hair TAUT" I said. "Just a teeny TRIM" I said. An inch and a half later I realized that the big bear paws he was using to paw the hair and brush SHOULD have been a dead giveaway. Anyways. I now have little short curlies at the base of my neck that are about an inch and a half shorter than the rest of my hair.

And I STILL like him. That's love.

OMG! I want this SOOO bad

What I like...

Thanks for the inspiration Elizabeth... I am definitely running low. I always feel that I cannot post on the blog without having at least one new picture. But here goes...

Things I don't like that everyone else likes:
Miniature Golfing, Dominoes... how are these things fun? Someone please tell me!

Things i do like that no one else likes:
Reading about dark matter in outer space. (not sure this qualifies as something other people don't like)...
I open it to the Blog floor- What are your likes/dislikes that others dislike/like??

Here is an old picture of two of my closest friends! Grant and Dr. Pepper! (You can see the Dr. Pepper in my right hand) I actually recently quit drinking soda altogether! I was going for a new, healthier, me, the only thing is, I sort of replaced soda with candy. :) At least I conquered the caffeine addiction! Still working on the sugar one...

Angels??

Why Shelby and Ashley are awesome:
we're totally see-through!

Monday, October 15, 2007

well, hello...

yes, yes, yes, it HAS been a while. Indeed.

I have just started my second week of work- first week was boring-but today we started having stuff to do- so it wasn't as sleep enhancing as last week. Last week, Dave and I bought a mini deep fryer. Last night we had fries and onion rings for dinner- followed by homemade coconut ice cream. DAMN YOU CUISINART! We are getting fatter. We have actually decided to start a DIET. A healthy eating regime, if you will. And you will. Of course I am writing this little ditty whilst eating a warmed and buttered peice of homemade bread. We also purchased a bread maker with wedding gift return $. We're doomed to have high cholesterol! Not to mention clogged arteries and intestines! But I must say- I've never eaten better. And I am a very, very good cook. and so is my Husby. You can only dream about being my Mexican neighbors to the right or the Vietnamese neighbors to the left who get to smell the intoxicating aromas wafting out of our window- that is of course, when nasal passages are uninterupted by weird smoking man who is as of yet unvisible. Yes, unvisible. Now Bon Apetit!

Forgotten Charity

Every time I hear the band Forgotten Charity, I think of Stuck on the Edge and cry. But I LOVE them anyway, just as I love Sam and Audrey!! So Elizabeth, did Aud come back yet?? Did she and Sam reconcile and get together?? These are just a few of the questions that come to me as I listen to Forgotten Charity.

Couch in a Box

I got a new couch! And, it came in a box. And when we opened the box, it was full of jig-saw pieces. That is my new roommate Ashley on the left.
Team Ashley putting together the couch! It came with one set of gloves, there were LOTS of splinters!
Hard at work!!
It's starting to look like something!! Not sure what...
Handy instructions are VERY helpful!
Frame complete! Sweeping up splinters, preparing for the cushions...
Arm rest cushions in place! and all those other pieces that cover up the wood frame...
Mission accomplished!! And it's really comfortable too! :)

I have a cute dog

Just wanted to show him off!
This is when he tore up the foam inside his bed with the help
of my in-laws golden retreiver in our backyard.
I still find random pieces of foam around the house!

He actually has 3 pieces in his mouth here!
