My funnest weekend in NYC

This past weekend was literally the most fun I have had in NYC yet. I know that is saying a lot, especially considering I have spent several weekends with many of you :) but I have to tell you I found the FUNNEST way to see Central Park, and after yesterday the city has grown a bigger place in my heart. It all comes down to one word:

Bicycle

My friends and I rented bicycles and rode around the entire Central Park. It was so much fun, I still can't get over it, even 24 hours later. I would like to officially add this to my list of MUST SEE/DO things in the city. Renting a bicycle and riding around central park.

Here we are at the beginning of the ride. That's Brenda, me and John.John, Mark and Colin...Lyndee, Brenda and me! :)
I had never seen the reservoir so I made Brenda stop and take a pic with me! It's so pretty!

(500) Days of Summer

My friends and I saw this movie tonight, and it was so good! A totally original, wonderful movie! I recommend it to everyone! :)From L to R: Lyndee, me, Carly, Alisa and Sara

X Y Z...

I'm pretty sure I just spent the last 3.5 hours of my day with my zipper down. Oh the things that humble us.

Leelee

I was walking home from work through Tribeca when I noticed a man and woman arguing. The woman in particular, I noticed, was Leelee Sobieski the actress (much prettier in real life than I imagined... or maybe it wasn't her!). I googled "Leelee Sobieski boyfriend" and this is the pic that came up- it's the guy she was arguing with! I am so good at celebrity sightings. ;)

JAWS! on the Intrepid

Friday night my friends and I went to watch JAWS! on the Intrepid, an aircraft carrier that is a museum. We got to sit on the flight deck and watch the movie as part of the summer movie series where they are featuring 3 nights of movies that are Air, Water and Space. The first movie was Top Gun, then JAWS! and the final movie is Apollo 13.Unfortunately we only got 30 minutes into the movie when a lightening/rain storm set in, and the event had to be canceled for safety reasons. But I was okay with that, we'd already seen two people be eaten by sharks! And that is more than enough for one night.

Watch this, you will love it... JAWS! in 30 seconds, with bunnies!

Harry Potter!

Potter fans unite! Last night a group of us headed to Times Square for the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! Here we are in the subway... notice mine and Brittney's lightening scars, and Carly's Mad-Eye Moody eye patch! Amazing!!
There were SO many people in line... I took this shot of Kim and the crowd outside the theater in Times Square, along with a random guy standing next to her... he looks so familiar but I just can't put my finger on it... ;)
The movie was the BEST Potter movie yet!! See it!!

French Bread

Last night we had an Enrichment activity at Brenda's house where I learned how to make french bread. My loaves turned out so pretty I just had to post a picture! And they tasted good to boot!

Who you gonna call???

Ghostbusters!
I had occasion to walk down Varick street today from Soho into Tribeca which brought me face to face with a building that looked very familiar! You guessed it, here is the picture I took of the actual building used in the movie as the Ghostbusters Firehouse! New York is like one giant movie set, for real!

Whistle gum!

My fab co-worker Ely got me the cutest little package of Japanese Gum for my b-day! I managed to wait all the way until Friday afternoon hunger struck... which is when I broke out the gum and did a little taste test to see what was the best!
First place flavor definitely goes to "Strawberries and Cream Panda" gum... (I should have known, Panda's are always the coolest)... and last place most definitely goes to "Grape Bunny" gum- the juices and fumes burned my nostrils, bleh!

I had a fantastic surprise when I got to the Banana gum! (saved it until last cause it was banana, semi ew thoughts in my head at banana flavored anything...) But the surprise was, this gum is also a whistle!!! I was looking at the packaging and couldn't figure out why the little cat had the gum on his lips, thought he was blowing a bubble, but then I noticed little music notes on the packaging, so I put the peice of gum up to my lips and it was a whistle!!! SOOO cool!

Also, ode to Koala bobble-head (special thanks to Brenda for re-gifting me this little beauty...) it's cute, and only makes me slightly motion sick when I notice it bobble-ing in my peripheral vision... :)

As you can see this picture is pretty dark, so I think it's all time I let you in on a 'non-secret' secret... I work in a cave! No natural sunlight and hardly any lights. Luckily my co-worker brightens the place up with such activities as "Krump-Off" Tuesdays, "Hug-O-War" Wednesdays, and my personal favorite "Speak in Love Ballad's" Mondays. :)

Partay like it's my birfday...

So it turns out I look exactly the same at age 26 as I did at 25. Go figure.
My birthday was fab! Kyle and Em surprised me by making me breakfast in bed and waking me with a beautiful rendition of Happy Birthday while holding a plate of delicious Swedish pancakes covered in candles!! It was very confusing in my sleepy state, but once I was awake it was amazing! These two are the greatest!!!
My awesome co-workers treated me to my favorite Thai place in NYC for lunch! Left to Right it's Alejandro, me, Isaac and Mark.My girl friends and I went out to Soup Man for dinner but I forgot to take a photo... it looked something like this... L to R: me, AshPro, Maria, Carly, Lyndee and Soup Nazi (don't worry, he didn't actually turn us away... :)
It was a fantastic day! Thanks to everyone for making it the best birthday! :)

Heidi's Glow

I was looking for some new nail polish in the cosmetics isle at Duane Reade, and I remembered this pretty color that Heidi had, it was a lavender that I really loved, when suddenly I saw the exact color I was looking for!
I picked it up and you'll NEVER believe what the color was named!!!
HEIDI'S GLOW!!! Crazy coincidence, right?!
